What is Involve?

In its Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) role, Involve supports existing and evolving charities, voluntary organisations and community groups across Mid Devon.

Through its Volunteer Centre, Involve provides support, information and advice for volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations in Tiverton and Cullompton and the surrounding districts.

Our History

Involve grew out of the Tiverton and District Volunteer Centre which had been active in the area since 1983. The development of the Centre's services was in response to the need for additional support for organisations in the Voluntary Sector across the district.

In 2001 it made successful bids for funding to the Community Fund (now The Big Lottery Fund), the South West Regional Development Agency and the Lloyds TSB Foundation in order to develop a Local Development Agency in the form of a Council for Voluntary Services (CVS). The new organisational support functions are available across the whole of the Mid Devon District. The Volunteer Bureau functions for Tiverton & District and for Cullompton & District areas continue as before.

In recognition of its expanding role and area of benefit the Tiverton and District Volunteer Centre renamed itself Involve - Voluntary Action in Mid Devon.
