Involve provides a range of services to support voluntary and community sector organisations to develop staff and volunteers and effectively support and develop their volunteers and staff and to build capacity.
Training provides a good opportunity to learn not only from an 'expert' but also from each other.
These services are responsive in nature and are planned and developed as a result of either suggestions or requests received from member organisations or from feedback from participants.
Involve provides training in 3 main ways:
- Formal scheduled training
- Introductory or information sharing at our Conferences or Forums
- Informal one to one training to address specific often urgent issues
- Formal bespoke training (tailored specifically to meet your needs)a current example of this

In conjunction with the Devon Association of CVS we collectively provide a further selection of targeted training across the County to which Involve members have access. In some cases Involve can provide assistance with travel. We can also put you in touch with people in similar organisations, who might be able to share their knowledge with you and help you to avoid the 'pitfalls'.
Conferences and Forums
Involve hosts 3 voluntary sector forums entitled Interagency Forums and an annual conference in September. More information on Interagency Forums are available on the Consultation and Networking page.
Involve Annual conference
The 2009 Conference was held on 9th September and a review of feedback and comments is being compiled and will be uploaded shortly. Outlines and reviews of the 2007 and 2008 annual conferences are given below:
"Get Involved" Conference 2008.
Involve's 6th Annual Conference was held at Verbeer Manor just outside Cullompton. There were 11 speakers, 6 workshops, free resources and publications.
The key note speaker was Jonathon Farnhill, author of the "Porcupine Principle".
There were 6 workshops to choose form:
- Commissioning and Procurement
- Common Volunteer and staffing pitfalls
- Motivation
- Getting it Right (Charity Law)
- Websites and income from Yahoo!
- What are Outcomes?
