The District of Mid Devon

 Contact Information >>>

The District of Mid Devon lies in the county of Devon in the South West of England. It covers an area of about 353 square miles (91,400 hectares) between Dartmoor and Exmoor. At the time of the 2001 Census it had a population of 69,772 although it is anticipated that this will grow by some 8% over the next decade. Approximately half the population live in the main towns of Tiverton, Cullompton and Crediton.

The District is primarily rural and has one of the lowest population densities in the county (under 200 persons per square mile). Public transport links are poor leading to a dependence on the car for travel.
