Satish Kumar
Resurgence
Satish has been editor of Resurgence magazine since 1973. Pilgrim and campaigner, he is the guiding spirit behind a number of ecological, spiritual and educational ventures in Britain.
Among other institutions he founded the Small School in Hartland, a pioneering secondary school, which brings into its curriculum ecological and spiritual values.
Between 2000 and 2009 he was awarded three honorary doctorates from British universities; in November 2001, he was presented with the Jamnalal Bajaj International Award for Promoting Gandhian Values Abroad.
From March to May 2008 Satish was invited as a visiting Professor of Global Awareness at Webster University, Missouri. Satish teaches, lectures and runs workshops internationally on reverential ecology, holistic education and voluntary simplicity.
Chris Lang
Big Lottery
Chris was appointed Regional Development Officer of the Big Lottery Fund's South West team in November 2005 and helps to develop BIG's policy and development work in the region. Chris joined the Big Lottery Fund's South West regional team in 2004 as Enquiries & Information Officer.
He has been a support/lead on BASIS, Young People's Fund, Community Buildings, Environment Programmes and People's Millions, Reaching Communities as well as Big Local Trust. He is also a member of the Equalities Champions project team within BIG.

Martha Wilkinson
Devon Community Foundation
Martha has 10 years experience in the retail, manufacturing and IT industries followed by another 10 years working in economic regeneration, with a particular interest in partnership working and facilitation.
She spent seven years as an independent consultant, largely with the public sector to establish strong partnerships and engage local communities.
She was appointed as Chief Executive of Devon Community Foundation in 2009, a grant making charity which works across the whole of 'old' Devon including Plymouth and Torbay, connecting private, public and corporate donors to great groups and causes in the county which tackle disadvantage. DCF has distributed nearly eight million pounds in grants to over 2700 projects in the last 8 years.
Jess Far
NCVO - Sustainable Funding Project
Jess joined NCVO in March 2010 as part of the Foresight team and is now the Sustainable Funding Officer for NCVO's Sustainable Funding Project.
She has previously worked with Foresight to research the wider social, political, economic and technological trends that impact on voluntary and community organisations, and now focuses on capacity building for the sector, particularly on issues around giving.
Before joining NCVO, Jess worked to generate publicity and funding for a variety of grassroots organisations, and maintains a strong interest in working at the community level outside of work.

Duncan Wood
Involve - Voluntary Action in Mid Devon
Duncan joined Involve in 2000 and has worked within the voluntary sector since 1990, in both a paid and a voluntary capacity. Before beginning his work with Involve he had worked directly in health; information; youth and education based charities. He had also worked with a wide variety of charitable and philanthropic organisations in an advisory and a supportive role, as a worker, a volunteer and as a grants assessor in a major grant making body.
He has served on a range of Boards and national steering groups including the national infrastructure body NAVCA, a regional funder, the South West Foundation, the National Equalities Partnership reference panel, Empowering the Voluntary Sector Steering Group as well as a number of County and District partnerships, consortia and local Trustee Boards.
