Involve is a Comprehensive Local Infrastructure Organisation serving the Voluntary and Community (3rd) Sector. It is also a key source of information about 'best practice' for As such it is extremely important for Involve to be able to demonstrate that all its' systems and procedures conform to 'best practice'. In other words, we must practice what we preach. Involve works to ensure that the services we provide offer value for money.
As part of the culture of continuous improvement, the staff and volunteer meetings are the formal mechanism for staff to bring ideas for improvement to the attention of management. It is also the forum for management to 'test' out ideas for change with staff. A further opportunity for individual staff (paid and unpaid) to bring forward ideas for improving their own or the organisations' work practice, takes place at their annual personal development reviews (paid staff only).
PQASSO
Involve continues to use and develop PQASSO (a practical quality assurance system for small voluntary organisations) as a means of embedding the culture of continuous improvement into Involve's management principles. Involve will also be encouraging and assisting the voluntary sector to adopt a quality assurance system. The issue of improving volunteering experience and encouraging 'best practice' in volunteer management is of prime importance to the CVS function of Involve.
